Fishing with pellets is tricky

The trick is to recognise that pellets come in a variety of shapes and sizes and to choose the right one for the weather and location you’re fishing in.

Pellets, in all of their forms and colours, may be the ultimate summertime baiting edge, and they’re responsible for a large number of monster carp catches every season. Most anglers that use pellets in their fishing aren’t really adventurous, and there are a crazy number of minor tips and methods that can be utilised to improve their carp magnetism even more.

Best pellets for carp fishing:

  • High-Oil/Low-Oil Pellets- The most common feed and lure are trout and bass pellets, which are highly successful in the warmer months. This is due in part to their high oil content (typically 15% or more), which the fish find very appealing. It also provides them with a conveniently available supply of energy. Carp’s digestive system, like all of its physical processes, is regulated by water temperature, and high oil baits are difficult to digest in cold water.
  • Match fishing pellets — Most bait makers also produce pellets that are designed to mimic their popular boilie formulas, with the same liquid and powdered ingredients. When the water gets cold, these would provide you with an advantage, and they’re almost always lower oil coarse type pellet formulations, partly because to cost and partly due to production volume. If you’ve been catching successfully with a boilie on a site you know the carp enjoy, then using these matching rapid breakdown pellets with the same attractors is an excellent strategy.
  • Mixing the pellets- They may be excellent bait in and of itself, but using one type of pellet straight from the bag will not help you get the most out of these meals. Consider a variety of sizes and colours; they have distinct breakdowns, tastes, and scents, all of which contribute to increased appeal. However, mixing various pellets together necessitates purchasing multiple bags at once, thus the option is to purchase pre-blended mixtures.
