Respite
Is the weather making you sweat? Try a mint margerita.
Respite is bar with BYOF (Bring your own Food) located at the bottom of Bushkill Falls, PA. With refreshing margaritas and drinks, respite hopes to offer calmness and relaxation to our costumers after a hike through the Bushkill Falls. What better place to relax in than the nature. It is a place where people can come and take a breather before going back to a busy and stressful life.
Background
What’s the first thing you think of when you successfully finish a task? or when you come home from a long day of work?
Let’s get a drink.
The inspiration for this idea came to me when I was at Bushkill Falls and after the hike my friends and I went to a bar to get some drinks to decompress. The bar was indoors and a closed space. That’s when I thought of an outdoor bar on the foot of the Falls with their feet in the water. This gives the people fresh air and a refreshing feeling. This could be a relaxing pit stop for people before going back to their lives. The reason for sticking only to drinks and not food was to keep the feeling of a respite bar and not overwhelm people the choice of food and keep the nature clean and healthy… and not create unwanted waste.
Logo
For the logo, I wanted to keep it simple to convey the purpose of the restaurant, which is relaxation and calmness in nature. I wanted to communicate the the waterfall and obviously the Margaritas. The logo is a … of the Ying-Yang and also shows water waves and a simplified coupe glassware used for margaritas.
Menu
The Menu is placed on a wooden board with three pages to it cut out in a forest pattern. The forest pattern is meant to carry forward the theme of our restaurant being a respite from the monotonous urban city life and a jump into the freshness of nature. And what better to symbolize this than wood and forest. All the three pages have names of various drinks that are freshly prepared for our customers to have a divine relaxing experience.
Packaging
The following are some of the products available at our restaurant. The coasters are there for use at each table for resting one’s drink and are also for sale. The towels are handed to the customers as they enter after a blissful hike in the nature for freshening up. The sunglasses are also given to the customers for a relaxing experience at our restaurant. The tote bags available for sale are made out of recycled cloth, the sale of which allows us to contribute to the betterment of our environment. Infact, all of the our products are made from 100% recycled materials.
Environmental
The first thing one can notice coming to our restaurant is this magnificent wooden door. The door bears our logo and serves as a reiteration of our purpose of being a bar that offers a leisurely escape into the freshness of nature. Another exciting offer we have is the ‘Happy Hour’ which is offered everyday from 2 pm to 5 pm wherein customers can enjoy our delectable and sumptuous drinks at a discounted price of up to 4 dollars per drink!
Advertising
Advertising for Respite would be simple and motivational, drawing inspiration from mother nature and describing the relaxing experience one could have at our bar. The business cards will be square cards, perfectly and neatly fitting our logo while also bearing the name of our owner. There are also images of our advertisements on train stations and our billboards with quotes encouraging a lifestyle we espouse at our bar — one of relaxation and leisure.
Collateral
The following are the aprons worn by our expert mixologists and waiters sporting the colors yellow and green. They are sleek and stain-resistant with a cool design. The towels below will be given to our customers for cleaning themselves after enjoying a comforting drink sitting beside the waterfall. The tees shown below are sported by all our workers. The white color complements the rich vibrant colors of our aprons, creating a brilliant outfit for our workers.
