Life is Chaotic, Period

Have a Purpose and fight the Chaos

Life is chaotic. Life isn’t fair. It is cruel. All these definitions of life are remembered whenever we go through something very unpleasant or depressing or hearbreaking, every now and then. No doubt all of this is true, unfortunately. But,

Life is also the struggle, the battle, the fight which some of us are afraid to choose. It is also the beautiful light which you see after the end of years of darkness. It is also the faith you keep in your heart to move forward in spite of every day’s failure. It is also the painful journey which leaves you amazed when you look back at your achievements. It is also the happy ending, and the sudden fall after that. It is what it is.

Am I boring you with what you know already? So, here’s something you what you might not know. Which is we all are the victims of life, some more than others. We all face problems, sufferings, failures, in our path. Then why can some people able to overcome it while others can’t? The answer is no one overcomes suffering and pain. Those who have taken most of the pain, are the ones who have been most remembered (I wanted to use the word successful here, but I didn’t for a reason). Pain will only grow with the time (if you are really getting ahead with your life). You have to live with it. Being vulnerable is the only option we have. Now it is up to you whether you allow this vulnerability it to destroy you or make you stronger. I always remember a quote whenever it feels that life is being too harsh. It is from a great man, Bruce Lee: Don’t pray for an easy life, instead pray for strength to endure a difficult one. Nothing can give you complete satisfaction. May be that’s why Jim Carrey once said: I want all the people to get whatever they wish for in life because then only they can know that’s not the answer.

Happiness is a pursuit. It is not something real, but just the state of your mind. Success is very diverse and undefined. Perfection is just too damn hard to achieve, and perfection in one task can be complete negligence of something else. Love is nothing but a desire to be loved or appreciated by someone else, sometimes it’s just lust. Knowledge is a bunch of junk in your head, and without its application it is better to not have it.

Then what is real, you may ask? What you should stick to? Sure, none of the above. I think, a purpose or an idea is what we should have. Some people may say they have a passion for something or it’s their dream to be that. I think that’s the initial stage of their journey, finally their dream or passion must convert into a purpose.

Having a purpose is having something very powerful, and something immortal. Why? You may have success today, you can fail tomorrow. You’re happy at the moment, next moment can bring sadness. You are perfect in something, but with your age your will lose that. You are in love; it will fade with the time. You have so much knowledge, so much that it’s hard for you to put in some use.

But if you have a purpose, it will only die when you die or most likely it will be carried forward by someone else. It can’t be destroyed neither it will fade if it’s true. It will take you through all the struggles, failure, and pain. It reminds you of your existence on this planet as an individual. It is not supposed to make you any better or less than other people. It is what defines you, separates you from others but at the same time unites you with them for its fulfillment. It should not be confused as a goal since goals are made to be accomplished. But purpose doesn’t need to be accomplished.

Purpose is only thing which you can have; other things will always be what you want and more. Once you have a purpose, and it stays with you always, no matter if you succeed or fail, or you’re happy or sad. So, having a purpose and devoting their life to it is what all the great people have done, whether it was Gandhi or Steve Jobs. They lived for a reason, a purpose and died for it whether they had been successful in acquiring that or not. Was their life less chaotic or less vulnerable than us?

That brings us to where we started: Life is chaotic, and it will only be more chaotic as the time passes. But we shouldn’t be afraid of chaos because only in the middle of a chaos, we can ever find peace. Have a Purpose and fight the chaos
