Hey everyone, this is Aaron from the Data Guild Culture Committee! We’ve been working tirelessly for a little over a month now to build a committee that will take care of future Data Guild events. We have one coming up already: the Casino Night on Sunday the 14th! It’s gonna be epic, trust me. 🃏

Bot?

While coming up with the loooong list of events we’ll be arranging during the following months, we got an idea for a cool project. Telegram is already used for pretty much all communication between students - why not integrate the organizing of events into it? A month later, Data Guild Culture Committee presents: the @DataGuildEventBot, our beautiful baby born of hours of debugging and countless liters of Coca-Cola.

Bot!

Here’s the neat thing: this little bot will help you with pretty much everything DG event related! Wanna see all upcoming events and their details? Talk to the bot! Wanna sign up to an event? The bot can do that for you! Are you wondering if your friends are attending some event? The bot can tell you who has signed up already! Wanna contact the event organizers? Well, you get the gist of it: this bot is a uni student’s best friend.

Bot.

Now, go try out the @DataGuildEventBot! You can talk to it with commands by starting your message with a slash (/): the /help command should get you familiarized with the current features. Of course, the project is young, and so we appreciate all feedback regarding the bot and would like to know if you run into any problems while conversing with it. Try the /feedback command for that, or just send a message to our support email.

That’s all for now! Enjoy your new little bot friend, and be sure to try signing up to the amazing Casino Night with its help! ✨

Btw! Although we prefer online payment through Stripe, it’ll still be possible to pay the sign-up fee with cash. If you want to do so, you can sign up to an event by messaging Ilia (@thefloppa) on Telegram! Of course, many other current and future features of the bot will still be available to you.
