…There are so many products from Apple that are designed to make you fall in love and never go back. You understand this if most of your friends have iPhones and there’s that one person with an Android phone who keeps ruining your group chats with their green bubbles.
It is frustrating trying to learn about machine learning. Do I use YOLO, Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch or all of them together somehow? And even if you figure out the PhD stuff, you still have to then master about three other disciplines to get it to work in production; devops, programming, and counting disciplines.
…ark Rabin, who worked in a Boeing flight-test group that supported the 737 Max, told Bloomberg that the decision to outsource engineering to HCL was “controversial because it was far less efficient than Boeing engineers just writing the code. […] It took many rounds going back and forth because the code was not done correctly.”
Regardless of which systems these engineers worked on, if you foster an engineering culture where developers are made to feel that management values fast and cheap over continuous progress and quality software, that will have a tremendously negative impact on both the quality and the timely delivery of your software. Buggy software takes longer to build.
Its great when you’ve spent 2 hours scanning photos only to suddenly notice you’ve scanned some random number of them upside down. Rather than painfully go through each one and flip them, you might feel like you’d rather just jump in front of a truck. Well, when a customer came to us with a similar problem, I immediately wondered if machine learning might be able to help. And guess what? It did. The end.
If you are a lawyer, and have been for 30 or so years, you’ve probably got lots and lots of file cabinets filled to the brim with paper as well as a general malaise about being a lawyer for so long. I’m sure there are contracts, agreements, trusts, memos, letters, and even the occasional random menu from the local Chinese take-out place stuffed into hanging file folders and other fascinating file cabinet accoutrement. What is annoying is that you’ve spent your life working very hard to keep things organized so that you can find relevant docs again when you need them.
The Tagbox API has a narrow, well-defined focus which makes it very pleasant to work with and integrate into an app. Clearly a lot of attention has been given to developer-friendliness. Within less than an hour, I was able to build a fully functional and accurate prototype model with a set of custom image tags. I cannot emphasize enough how important this is as it allows developers to rapidly iterate and test several competing setups.
