I so feel ya. I was working for a magazine and was laid off after the 2008 crisis. Took me over a year to find a full-time, stable writing/editing gig. I’m always leery of the market now. It almost doesn’t matter how great you are at your media job when there are only so many to go around… It’s so galling, too, how people don’t realize how important our profession is.
In her college days Hillary Swale set school records in basketball and lacrosse. But being a star athlete came with a price. She injured her left knee on the court, which required an operation, and she suffered two concussions while playing lacrosse, which left her woozy for six months afterward.
What I love about Oklahoma. The people there are freaking awesome.
I lived in Oklahoma for three years attending law school. I learned a lot more about life from the people there than I did about law. And I was absolutely fine with that. Some of the most sincere people I’ve ever met, and all they care about is other people.
