The number one predictor of anyone’s success or failure is usually their circle of influence- who they hang out with….
Everything else they do seems to follow from there. Success breeds success, while failure breeds failure…
You ARE who you surround yourself with. Better yet — you are who you allow to occupy your mind most.
The ONE thing that contributes to all other factors of failure is USUALLY a negative circle of influence, or a negative “environment”. It’s the ONE thing that as Jay Papasan would say, “Lines up all the dominos”.
Your circle of influence plays a MAJOR role in conditioning your thoughts. The more you hear something repeated over and over, the more you begin to believe it. Your BELIEFS influence your actions, and your ACTIONS influence your results. Therefore, it’s highly likely that your friends’, mentors’, teachers’, or advisors’ are the biggest key in your current successes or failures.
Don’t get me wrong — in the end of the day the deciding factor is always YOU — not someone or something else, but in many cases the way YOU think has been conditioned by some other people.
I’d be shocked to find a story of someone who achieved great successes without great influence from SOMEONE — whether in person, or through their works (books, audios, videos, etc…)

If your mom & dad made so much money that they retired early and never had to work another second in their life, living the exact lifestyle they dreamed of until death — you can probably stop reading right now, or at least disregard the following statement: You can’t follow what your family did if you don’t want what they have.. IF your mom/dad, grandfather, cousin, uncle, best-friend, teacher, WHOEVER doesn’t live a phenomenal, abundant, exceptional life — they can’t teach exactly you how to!
If you follow what they do, you believe what they believe, you think what they think , then you will get what they get EVERY TIME.
(In a nutshel: Don’t expect your cousins’ sister who hates her crappy job & is BROKE to be a great advocate for your next huge business idea…)

THREE WAYS TO CULTIVATE A REMARKABLE CIRCLE OF INFLUENCE:
1) Fill your mind with successful people’s thoughts — use your free time to pour the thoughts of successful people into your mind.
Most people spend their free time allowing the television to PUKE negativity all over them; they fill their brain with fear, negativity, and propaganda. CHOOSE to spend your time filling your brain with knowledge and thoughts from industry leaders & mentors. It doesn’t matter whether you read, watch, or listen, but fill your mind with their thoughts
When you fill your mind with successful people’s thoughts, they begin to become your own. Your brain LITERALLY re-wires its patterns and changes your beliefs.
In his book “The Energy Bus”, author Jon Gordon talks about “Energy Vampires”, people who seem to drain your energy whenever you’re around them. ELIMINATE THEM from your life. NOTHING can slow you down more and keep you from success than allowing yourself to hang with energy vampires.
People who complain, blame, or focus on elementary insecure emotions and embody small-minded negative thinking should be avoided at ALL COSTS. This morning, Grant Cardone said, “The most important thing in your success will be who you stay AWAY from” (shoutout to Peter Voogd for hosting the GameChangers call with Grant)

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is who you stay away from. AVOID energy vampires!
3) View your time as an INVESTMENT — The day you view your time as an INVESTMENT, and you invest it wisely, you will change your life dramatically forever. If you begin asking yourself “Is this the best investment of my time right now” on a regular basis throughout the day, you’ll teach your brain to invest its time WISELY.
Zig Ziglar always talks about “auto-mobile university”- where many people choose to invest their time in music or silence, while others invest their time into LEARNING while they drive by listening to audiobooks, tapes, and seminars.
Plenty of people “un-wind” watching television, when they could be watching seminars, lectures, or programs on YouTube, or online. Lots of people do chores around the house in silence, while they could be listening to an audiobook.
Whoever you invest your time with will have the largest impact on how your thinking is wired; therefore making a DRASTIC difference on your success or failure….
IDENTIFY THE PIGEONS, decide to leave them behind, and GO SOAR WITH EAGLES
