I wonder: Is there a subconscious assumption that if a black family in the white house wears fancy clothes, it means they are buying it on the taxpayers dime because black families don’t have money so clearly that must be how it happened; but a white family (particularly one that so egregiously and conspicuously shows off their wealth) wears flashy gear, it must be because they bought it with their own cash?
