Every Home Buyer Wants This

Of all the buyers I’ve worked with, I’ve never had anyone ask me to find them a house that was cramped. They might call it a cottage or a cabin, but they won’t deliberately search for something small. From the bachelor looking at studios to the big family needing five bedrooms, buyers are always reaching for more than just the minimum space required.
People prefer spacious. It gives them the flexibility to have another child or work from home or make extra cash renting out a room.
Growth requires capacity. And sometimes, capacity simply means having the space.
I think about what I have the space or capacity for in my own life. Beyond the physical walls of a house, what does a spacious life look like to me?
It’s about abundance. It’s life to the full. It’s pushing past boundaries and discovering that my world today is bigger than it was yesterday. It’s pursuing new dreams and not getting stuck in the mud of small living. It’s quitting an addiction that no longer brings me joy.
Living a spacious life requires our attention. If we want to expand beyond the borders of what we already occupy we must first be aware of the vacant land around us.
When you scan the field what do you see? It may be smack dab in front of you or in a random peripheral view that’s hard to spot. But it is there. It’s the thing you are afraid of and the thing that makes your heart leap.
When you move toward it, it will move toward you. It won’t feel too small and I hope not too big. But it will be just enough.
