A look at the 76er’s 2016–2017 team

We are back again for another week of my Philadelphia 76er’s sports blog. This weeks addition we will be discussing the newly acquired players from the offseason. The 76er’s are finally beginning to trend in the right direction with recent moves this summer. New General Manager Bryan Colangelo signed two NBA rotation guards (Jerryd Bayless) and (Gerald Henderson). Colangelo also signed former Euroleague star point guard (Sergio Rodriguez). With the loss of guards (Ish Smith) and (Isaiah Canaan) these new additions to the team will look to help bolster the backcourt.

After “Trusting the Process” for over three years now, it finally looks like the 76er’s are beginning to turn the page. Embiid and Saric are two main players that helped create the term “Trust the Process.” After being selected 3rd overall in the 2014 NBA draft, Embiid has finally suited up in his first NBA game after missing two seasons. Saric who was a draft and stash lottery pick in the 2013 NBA draft, has also suited up for the Sixers for the first time this season.

Season Outlook:

This years number one overall pick Ben Simmons went down with a Jones fracture in his right foot which will require him to miss at least 2–3 months. Simmons injury will be a big blow to the team this season, but Simmons should return to the team this season if he’s able to make a full recovery. Going along with that, big men Noel and Okafor are still trying to recover from injuries of their own. Even though these injuries are a big blow to the team, the team still has one big bright spot. Why? Because Joel Embiid. This young talented rookie big man has looked like the best rookie in this years class. If he is able to stay health, Embiid will have a phenomenal career.
