The Titan’s Curse is an American fantasy-adventure novel based on Greek mythology written by Rick Riordan. It was released on May 1, 2007, and is the third novel in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series and the sequel to The Sea of Monsters. In this book, Percy Jackson and his friends try to bring two new demi-gods safely back to the camp but the arrival of the manticore(half-human, half-lion), changes everything. The Hunters of Artemis( maidens who have sworn loyalty to the maiden goddess Artemis to join her in the Hunt and reject love for as long as they live in return of immortality)arrive to save them. Annabeth goes missing along with the manticore as it falls off the cliff. The Goddess of the Hunt, Artemis decides to hunt alone for the deadly monster and ends up in chains. Meanwhile, the Titans(The fathers and mothers of the gods) are becoming more and more powerful to bring back their lord, Kronos the king of titans. The quest is upon these powerful demi-gods to free the Goddess in chains, to find Annabeth, and to stop the Titans before they could rise the fortress of the Titans, Mount Othrys. Can Percy Jackson succeed in this quest?

How I Feel About This book:

This book is young adult fiction or fantasy fiction book. The book was tremendously entertaining and breathtaking. There were so many plotlines going along the way. So many little details that we would brush off as we read later end up having a bigger purpose to it. We get to see many Gods interacting with Percy for the first time. This book had a lot of action sequences, even more than the first book. The humor sense that the author kept in his previous books was still very much present in this one. We also get introduced to a new character named Rachel who is a mortal but can see through the mist(a supernatural force that hides or — more often — disguises monsters and other supernatural entities so that mortals cannot see them). Rick Riordan did an amazing job with the story because he had some twists and turns and a lot of action. It was easy to read and there was some funny thing he put in there. The Titan’s Curse is ten stars, I loved it. The conflicts of the story were awesome they told how they did this, and who did that, it was just spot on. This book is ten out of ten because it is one of the best books I ever read. It is a ten because it is action-packed and it makes so much sense at the end of the book. I could not find any cons for this book, because it just keeps getting better and better. The character Luke(a former friend turned evil)was annoying but since it had a purpose to the story, I was okay with it. This book portrayed friendship, duty, honor, and grief. The prophecy as usual made me figure out the meaning behind it. Rick Riordan has a way of blending myth and modern in a believable way which makes it even more captivating.

Conclusion:

All in all, in my view this book is a must-read for anyone that enjoys fantasy with mythology. This book is also an amazing book for beginning readers
