To have friendship
“I have learned that to be with those I like is enough.”
Walt Whitman
These moments are filled with laughter, the type of laughter that comes from my gut and makes me silently wheeze.
These moments are filled with happy eyes connecting with joy knowing that you really just told the best joke.
These moments are filled with empathy as you hear of each other’s struggles and battles that continue throughout the day, yet there is solace when comfort can be found through these moments at the end of the day.
These moments continue to be filled with the smells of bagels and pizza and Mountain Dew as you all realize that midnight hunger is no joke.
These moments of great friendship are what fill my heart.
To know that these moments are the result of bravery, the result of taking a chance and saying hello even though you know you will stumble on your words.
To know that these moments are the result of giving time to these friends so that you may develop too many one-liner inside jokes, ones that will not make sense the next day.
To know that these moments are the result of patience in knowing that, one day, you will be able to tell them how much you truly fart.
To know that these moments mean the world to me is the most cherished part of it all.
Friendships are a beautiful and wonderful connection between different humans with different backgrounds and stories and attitudes and personalities and tastes in music coming together to form laughter and joy and love. I am so filled to know that these moments of my friendships are only a small part of a larger connection that will be with us all.

PS: Tell your friends you love them, they will really like it.
