A recent study shows that people living on the continent of North America suffer 9 times more chronic fatigue and 31 times more chronic depression than do people living on the continent of Asia. Interestingly, Asians, on average, eat 20 grams of soy per day, whereas North Americans eat virtually none. It turns out that soy contains phytochemicals called isoflavones, which have been found to possess disease-preventing properties. Thus, North Americans should consider eating soy on a regular basis as a way of preventing fatigue and depression.
Our body systems work based on what we give it. It grows when we feed it with the right amount of food and becomes a bad system when we feed it with junks. The systems that run in our body also function either optimally or not depending on what they are fed with. As such, it makes a lot of sense to suggest that what we eat could determine if we would be healthier or not.
Right from primary school, students are taught that balanced diets makes us grow properly and any lack of it could lead to serious health issues like kwashiokor and other diseases. By the food we eat, we send some items to the digestive system which is distributed to the other parts of the body. Good food means good nutrients are transferred to other parts of the body. With good food, the various systems of our body become more stronger and able to fight off pathogens from the body and keep us stronger.
Good food increases the rate at which new cells in the body are produced. Some certain food items make some particular body system work better. This is due to the contents of such food items and how the body system uses it. An example is orange. When the body ingests orange, it uses it in the area of easy digestion of food which thus makes for quicker delivery of food to the various body parts. So also are a lot of food items. They do different things for the body.
Soy may not also be an exception to this. It contains a lot of nutrients which could be used by the body’s immune system. When the immune system gets a lot of nutrients to make it work well, it fends the body from a lot of sicknesses. A lot of sickness is due to the fact that the immune system is not able to fight because it does not have enough capability to do that. With food items that make the immune system work fast, it is definitely possible to be able to fight off certain illnesses faster than people who do not take such food items.
When kids are growing up, they take certain food items which are intended to make them grow faster and give them a good immune system. As they grow older, they tend to reduce the items that make them grow and focus more on energy and other food items that help keep the immune system strong. If this is the case, then some food items do well in making us grow than others and soy cannot be an exception.
Sicknesses are mostly due to the lack of something in the body system or an excess of it. There are certain food items that can help keep the body at optimal level of all the items that it needs.
It would definitely be a good idea if the people of South America inculcate the habit of eating soy in their daily meals. It does not serve as a guarantee to help fix the problem of depression and fatigue but would surely make a difference.
Stress and fatigue in the South American people can possibly be caused by other factors which if tackled directly would not require that food supplements be added to their meals. So other factors should be considered as the cause of fatigue and stress without generally thinking of a direct solution without thinking of what the major problem was in the first place.
Food plays a great role in human development and cannot be ruled out as a good source of immunity for the body system. However, food should not be considered only as the option without first considering exactly what the cause of stress and depression is.
It might be due to a certain habit the people of South America have. It might be due to certain food items that they eat, a certain place they live and other factors. Other optional causes of fatigue and stress should be observed before choosing food supplements as one of the solution
