RESTRICTION:

  • Only students who are currently majoring in business or economics at their home university are allowed to enroll in the COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.
  • Applicants seeking admission to the KOREAN HISTORY PSYCHOLOGY STATISTICS MAJOR are required to demonstrate proficiency in the Korean language. This can be accomplished by achieving either (1) Level 5 or higher on the official Korean Language Proficiency Test, or (2) Level 5 or higher on the Korean Test administered by the SNU Language Institute.
  • From Spring 2018 onwards, undergraduate level students are not permitted to enroll in the COLLEGE OF LAW. Global Korea Scholarship,
  • Beginning in Fall 2018, undergraduate students will have the opportunity to attend School of Law, a specialized law school for graduate-level students. It is important to mention that these undergraduate students will be enrolled as graduate (Master’s) students in SNU law school throughout their studies.

SNU coordinators must inform applicants in advance of their eligibility if they wish to pursue studies in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Music, or MBA.

  • The COLLEGE OF MEDICINE is off-limits for exchange students.
  • Only students who are currently enrolled in a master’s program at the School of Dentistry or an equivalent program at their home university are eligible to attend the College of Dentistry. The College does not offer a student exchange program for undergraduate students.
  • Only students who are currently studying vocal music at their home university are eligible for the VOCAL MUSIC MAJOR program.

Scholarship Coverage

The Global Korea Scholarship grants the recipient with the following benefits:

  • 500,000 won a month for living expenses.
  • 200,000 won will be given as payment upon arrival.
  • Round-trip Airfare: You may be reimbursed up to the predetermined limit.
  • Each university pays 20,000 won a month for medical insurance.

Eligibility Criteria for Global Korea Scholarship

Candidates must satisfy all of the requirements listed below to be considered for the Global Korea Scholarship.

  • Required Language: English.
  • Eligible Countries: All world countries.
  • Applicants are required to have completed at least one semester before applying and must currently be enrolled in the second semester of the home university program.

* At the application stage, we are unable to accept graduate students who have just started their first semester in the Master’s program.

  • In order to be considered for admission in Fall 2020, applicants must meet the specified GPA requirement.
  • GPA of 2.5/4.0 (equal to 2.7/4.3) or percentile score of 83 for undergraduates
  • GPA of 3.0/4.0 (equal to 3.3/4.3) or percentile score of 89 for masters

How to Apply for Global Korea Scholarship?

To apply for this scholarship, please adhere to the application instructions provided below.

  1. Application materials and a valid nomination letter for the Global Korea Scholarship must be supplied by the institutions that recommended the applicants via email.
  2. The chosen SNU coordinator will provide the selected students with comprehensive instructions on how to log in and submit an online application.
  3. Fill out the online application form for the exchange programme, submit it, and then upload the scanned copies of the required papers to the system:
  • a certificate of enrollment from the institution you are currently attending.
  • Official transcript from the university.
  • a professor at the present institution has written a letter of recommendation.
  • a free essay about “Statement of Purpose” in either English or Korean.
  • a duplicate of the applicant’s passport.
  • For candidates in the fields of fine arts, music, and physical education: images of the works and recordings of performances

  • Those applying for the exchange programme may finish and submit their application online.
  • Every document must be submitted and uploaded in ORIGINAL form or be a certified official copy in either English or Korean. If your papers are not in English or Korean, please get them translated into those languages, validated, and sealed by an authorised agency.
