OpenAI, the renowned artificial intelligence research organization, recently made a significant announcement during their Dev Day event. The unveiling of the GPT-4 Turbo model promises to usher in a new era of AI capabilities and solutions. In a whirlwind of revelations, OpenAI presented a range of exciting developments designed to enhance the utility and flexibility of their AI models. Here’s a quick overview of what was revealed in just three minutes.

Enhanced Context Length

One of the standout features of GPT-4 Turbo is its impressive ability to handle longer context lengths.

While its predecessor, GPT-3, supported context lengths of up to 8K tokens in some cases, the new model can now extend this to an astonishing 32K tokens.

However, OpenAI recognizes that even this might not suffice for all users, so they’ve pushed the envelope further. GPT-4 Turbo can now accommodate up to a remarkable 128,000 tokens of context, addressing the limitations of previous models.

OpenAI acknowledges the evolving needs of its users, stating, “Today we are launching a new model GPT Turbo, supported up to 8K and in some cases up to 32K context length, but we know that isn’t enough for many of you.”
