Coates — Black White Divide
A time when I acted differently because I was an outsider and I knew I was a outsider because I did not belong in that country even though that is where my origin of my race is from. It was June 6, 2013 when my mom and brother and my sister and I all went to Palestine, Jerusalem that is in Israel. I had to act the traditional way In Palestine like I had to go pray everyday in the mosque with my uncles and cousins because that’s what they expected of me and I did not do anything that was out of place expect maybe the way I dressed. When I was out there in Palestine the atmosphere is obviously different because if you aren’t fluent in your language then it must be hard for anyone especially in your native country so you always have to have someone with you at all times that knows how to speak it and for me it was my cousin.
