It’s Over

The country I called home since I was a young teen is not my home anymore.

Of course, I have a fair bit of nostalgia. In many ways, Denmark was a great place to live.

It was not all sunshine, though.

During the last year, for instance, I experienced firsthand how racist the immigration rules are.

Perhaps I will tell the story one day when I am ready.

I have had an incredibly tumultuous year. All of it resulted in me deciding to move back to Germany.

For now, I have to start from scratch. Just my tutoring gigs and the writing.

I have no close contacts apart from family.

But I feel resilient enough to weather this storm also.

Goodbye is the word to say

I am turning my back to you today

You have been my home since I was a teen

Together so many things we have seen
