In order to be peaceful, in order to become meditative we need to understand a few things first.

Our innate nature is to be peaceful and to be meditative. A newborn child is meditative. A child till a certain age is meditative. That's why they are so attractive. That's why they look so pristine. That's why they look so pure.

So we do not have to learn how to become meditative or how to become peaceful. We have to learn how to not become stressed or how to not become restless. Rest, peace, meditativeness, joy, bliss, etc are our natural states.

Yes, you have found out rightly that it is the mind that keeps churning out thoughts all day and even during sleep which makes us restless. There are countless things happening to us, especially the unwanted things which are triggering a lot of negative emotions and that is making us restless. If we get what we want, and all that which we do not want is removed from our lives we will become peaceful, meditative, joyful, blissful, etc. Well, it is just impossible as all that which is unwanted in your life is nothing but the reflection of your restlessness. And once you are restful, once you are meditative, once you are joyful what you want comes to you with ease. You must have done some reading around the popular law of attraction, right. Just that forcing the mind to become joyful does not work.

So, what should we do? How should we make the mind peaceful, joyful, and meditative? Well, it is more about priority than anything else. We want what we want more than how much we want peace. We want that to be removed which we do not want more than how much we want peace. And here is where we are stuck. We keep wanting what we like and we keep resisting what we dislike in our thoughts throughout the day in the hope that when we get what we want and when we get rid of what we do not want we will become peaceful, joyful, and meditative. Good luck with that, because as long as you keep wanting what you like and keep resisting what you do not, you will never be peaceful and joyful, and you will never be able to get what you want and get rid of what you do not want.

I hope you have got what I have to say. I hope you have got the key to a better life. I hope you have got the key to a happy and fulfilling life. It is to want peace more than getting what you like and getting rid of what you do not like. I know even after reading tons of books and watching many videos on the law of attraction, things do not work for people as they are still stuck in cravings and aversions throughout the day, even if they visualize, write gratitude journals, and write many affirmations.

Yes, it to keep your priority list right. You have to first want peace and joy directly not through any change in your life circumstances. Once peace and joy come into your life, your life circumstances are bound to change as they are a mere reflection of your inner state.

So, once your priority is set right, which is to want peace now and today, before anything changes in your life, we can talk about how to achieve peace. And the great thing is you automatically start to find ways to it or even start to experience it directly once you set your priorities right. Yes, the main way to find peace is to want peace more than anything. It is to want peace more than your desires. It is to want peace more than how much you want to get rid of bad parts of your life.
