It is the most common type of arthritis and gets worse with age. Rheumatoid arthritis is caused by the immune system attacking the joints as if they were foreign tissues. In this disease inflammation of the synovial membrane (a soft tissue that protects joints in the body). It can even lead to bone loss in worst case scenario. Because of this, rheumatoid arthritis is classified as an autoimmune disease. Here are ways to ease your arthritis pain significantly.

1. Drink turmeric and Ginger tea Daily- Any herbal element with anti-inflammatory properties is good for arthritis. The main substance in turmeric which has anti-inflammatory property is curcumin, which is a powerful antioxidant. In addition, it lowers the levels of 2 enzymes responsible for causing inflammation. Make it a habit of drinking this mixture daily, you can even add honey according to your taste.

2. Try to exercise and do Yoga- While any kind of exercise will improve mobility in the joints, increasing your flexibility. However, doing exercise in your old age can become a difficult task, so yoga can be your best bet. This will provide a calm state of mind and reduce symptoms of arthritis.

3. Try massaging with olive oil- While any oil in particular can improve circulation and reduce pain and stiffness, olive oil provides the extra benefit. Main reason for this is (EVOO), a compound in extra virgin olive oil called oleocanthal which inhibits inflammatory enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, just like Advil or aspirin does. During a research, it was found that 1 ½ tablespoon of extra virgin oil is equal to 200-mg of ibuprofen. Normal virgin oil will not do the trick because most of this component is lost in the production of the oil due to intense heat, virgin oil on the other hand is derived from “cold press” method.

4. Take fatty acid supplements and increase Intake of Magnesium- Fatty acids are healthy fats like omega 3 and omega 6. These acids are derived from fish oils. Omega 3 is something which everyone should include in their diet. They promote general health and debility. Good for heart and joints. Now coming to magnesium, it is something which relaxes your muscles so automatically it will help with arthritis, you can search magnesium rich foods or you can go for supplements to fulfill your magnesium needs.

5. Take herbal supplements daily- While getting old there are a lot of essential minerals in your body which get exhausts over time and take time to replenish. Take these supplements to keep the essential minerals and some extra components to ease off that arthritis pain.
