ISRO to setup Regional Academic Centre for Space (RAC-S) at NIT Kurukshetra | NITKKR Signs MOU with ISRO

National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra has signed an MOU with ISRO, Banglore. ISRO will be setting up the Fourth Regional Academic Centre for Space (RAC-S) at NIT- Kurukshetra to encourage start-ups and entrepreneurship among student community and to develop Academia–Industry ecosystem for Space Technology in the country.

On the occasion, Dr Satish Kumar, Director of NIT Kurukshetra, and Dr PV Venkitakrishnana, Director, Capacity Building Programme Office (CBPO), ISRO headquarters, Bangalore, signed the MoU in a well-attended ceremony. Under the MoU, a Regional Academic Centre for Space (RAC-S) will be established in the institute providing research facility to students, scholars and faculty. Through this centre, ISRO will provide financial support to conduct research projects in the advanced areas relevant to space applications. Fellowships will also be offered to scholars for research on long-term projects.

Three such centres are already functioning at NIT-Agartala, NIT-Jalandhar and NIT Trichy for North-eastern, North and South region of our country respectively.
