“We all boil at different degrees” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

Have you ever felt like breaking/smashing things when you are angry? Congratulations, you have got hulk inside you. You have the strongest emotion that has the potential to motivate you, push you and drive you towards your goals.

At it’s worst, anger can be incredibly frustrating and annoying and can become a tremendous obstacle in your path towards your goals. But, at it’s best, it can act as the catalyst for success. It is a misconception that you should not hold in your anger and it’s healthy to vent and let it out. Instead, that the anger should be kept in the ‘anger trunk’ to be utilised later for constructive purposes. It’s okay to be angry until you don’t hurt other and you don’t hurt yourself.

  1. In times of great stress or adversity, it’s always best to keep busy to plow your anger and energy into something positive. Always try to channelise your anger towards solving the problem. “It is wise to direct your anger towards problems - not people; to focus your energies on answers - not excuses.” — William Arthur Ward.
  2. Do not take any decision when you are angry because anger clouds your ability to judge the situation.

a. Be patient — A moment of patience in the moment of anger saves you a hundred moments of regrets.

b. Stay Calm — “Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret.” — Ambrose Bierce.

3. There are a ton of other emotions which are responsible for the perturbation and when collected over a period of time comes out in the form of anger. So, try to figure out and categorise the conditions which act as the trigger to wake the hulk. Because knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness of other people.

“He who angers you conquers you.”

4. Never let anyone make you angry. Instead, try to find out the humour when they are doing so. Warn them not to mess with you because you know Judo, karate, kung fu, Tae kwon do and a few other dangerous words.😜

In the end, I would like to mention that our strength is not measured by how many fights we win, rather it is determined by how well we control ourselves when angry.

Stay Angry. Stay Focused.
