ISOLATION

Sunlight reaches not into my room,
Beneath the sheets, I wait for doom.
Unseen, unknown, I silently lie,
I lament my solitude, let me die.

I open my eyes, I see no face,
Closing my eyes, I ponder my case:
Why am I here?, locked, imprisoned,
“What wrong have I done?” I reasoned.

A cough of mine is so deadly,
A million lethal bugs set free,
A raging war inside me is fought,
Every passing moment, disaster is bought.

If I die, I succumb to this fatal disease,
I might have lost, my breath shall cease,
But alas, a hero not with valour and skill
I saved many, lying still.
