Faculty Death

An education professor at Liberty University passed away Saturday. Elizabeth Billson was 58 when she lost her battle with cancer. Billson had suffered from cancer for 10 years. She dedicated 36 years of her career to education at Liberty University. Billson is estimated to have taught 10,000 future teachers during her time spent at Liberty University. Billson was awarded the college’s “Outstanding Professor” award last year for her dedication to the school and the students who passed through its doors.

Truck Wreck

An accident occurred on part of I-59 undergoing construction after two trucks engaged in a head-on collision. Both drivers of the vehicles were not injured from the accident. The vehicle operators both braked, but still collided. They were both cited for speeding and reckless driving. Fuel from both trucks spilled onto the highway and caused an oil slick. One truck carrying refrigerated contents lost an estimated $10,000 worth of goods after its contents thawed.
