Elaboration of Executive Presentation of Infrastructure/Support Cost Estimate for an SAP Migration Project from On-Premises to AWS

Project Description:

In this project based on a real-world scenario, I acted as a Cloud Architect and created an executive presentation on infrastructure and support cost estimate for an SAP Migration Project from On-Premises to AWS. SAP workloads were running in a corporate Data Center with the environment divided into Production, Quality Assurance — QA (Staging) and Development/Test layers.

My mission was to estimate the infrastructure and enterprise-level support costs of migration to AWS, considering that this infrastructure will be running on AWS for at least the next 3 years with partial upfront payments for the resources.

After configuring all the key infrastructure resources required for the migration, such as the EC2, Elastic Load Balancers, RDS for Oracle, Elastic File System, Elastic Block Storage the total estimated cost breakdown came out as shown below:

From the AWS Pricing Calculator, I downloaded the cost estimate by exporting it in the CVS file format and did some formatting to create the monthly and yearly cost estimate charts.

Based on the monthly and yearly cost estimates laid out in the table above I created the charts below for the Executive Presentation.

That’s all folks! Hope you enjoyed the short presentation!
