I get what you are saying, now. Thank you for clarifying! You are definitely right about that — we all make unfair judgments about others.

There are many people using the term “racist” too broadly. I look at my friends of color and wonder, “Do they think I’m a racist?” I certainly hope that I’ve never given them a reason to think so. But, if enough people and leaders in their community tell them all white people are racist, will they start to think that about me? Will it keep other people of color from being my friend or engaging with me, if they think I’m a racist because of my skin color?

These are my concerns given the current state of public discourse on the subject. Are we working to help improve things, or are we sowing seeds of division and distrust?
