10 take aways from the Marquette Digital Summit
1. Conferences = networking opportunity
Hundreds of students and professionals rubbed elbows at the Digital Summit, including participants from Laughlin Constable, Spotify, Google, Microsoft and more. Some Marquette students had the opportunity to get up close with speakers as student ambassadors by greeting them and introducing them. But anyone has the opportunity to network at a conference like the Digital Summit by sitting at a lunch table where you don’t know anyone, exchanging business cards and then following up with a LinkedIn connection or an email. You never know where it might lead.
2. Keep personality and character in brands
Laughlin Constable practices what they preach by keeping personality in brands. For example, they personalized the face of cancer in a campaign for Aurora, they’re proud of their local roots by transforming a concession stand into a mock super club, they’re unafraid to tell it like it is when it comes tobeer, socializing and college student.
3. Millennials are taking over.
Spotify’s ability to target millennials is what makes them so appealing. ““…but the service overwhelmingly appeals to millennials (aged 18–34) who make up a whopping 65% of Spotify’s user demographic.”It is their ability to incorporate variety, easy access and diversity into its daily use. Millennials have the power to drive companies to adapt to their wants and needs.
4. Consumer Loyalty Matters.
What does consumer loyalty even mean and why does it matter? Gartner Incorporated emphasizes just how important the trust of their consumers is to them. For example, one their corporate web page they explain just how they attract and retain consumer loyalty. They emphasize consumer engagement and the adoption of these ideas.
5. Vlogging isn’t all that easy.
Vlogging at it’s most basic level can seem easy and carefree. Yet there is a great amount of time, skill and determination involved when developing. For example, Paris Presents hires consumers to vlog about their products, maintaining their authenticity.
6. Authenticity is key.
Transparency is what connects the company and its consumer. Rather than giving information or products out it should almost be as you are trying it as one. Similar to the idea of being “talked with,” rather than “talked at.”
7. Mobile.Mobile.Mobile
The use of mobile phones has increased drastically in the past five years. That being said it is important to thread a business in accordance with this. Apps give companies the opportunity to be available on mobile devices. Get mobile!
8. Know your audience.
Know who you are selling your products to! Millennials want the ability to have access to everything. With that said, companies such as Uber and Netflix allow consumers to have what they want without owning it. It is the idea of shared responsibility.
9. Know your purpose.
At the end of the day, if you don’t love what you are doing no one else is. It is passion and determination that drive a successful company. This not only engages consumers but provides and aura of confidence!
10. S W A G.
Give the people what they want! Too many samples is not a thing. Consumers love being able to test out the product and see if it is for them. Not only are you initially gaining a consumer you are allowing opportunity for networking. r95/status/702935899131265024
