Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a naturally occurring antioxidant that helps protect skin cells from damage and promotes skin rejuvenation.

To make a Coenzyme Q10 facial oil, follow these steps:

Ingredients:

  • Coenzyme Q10 powder (usually available in capsules, can be found online or at health stores)
  • Carrier oil of your choice (e.g., jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, or grapeseed oil)
  • Optional: additional beneficial oils or extracts (e.g., vitamin E oil, rosehip oil, or lavender essential oil)

Instructions:

  1. Choose a carrier oil: Select a carrier oil that best suits your skin type. For example, jojoba oil is suitable for most skin types, sweet almond oil works well for dry or sensitive skin, and grapeseed oil is light and works well for oily skin.
  2. Measure carrier oil: Measure the desired amount of carrier oil based on your container size. A 1-ounce (30 ml) dropper bottle is a common choice for facial oils.
  3. Prepare CoQ10 powder: If using CoQ10 capsules, carefully open the capsules and pour the powder into a small, clean container. You’ll need around 30–60 mg of CoQ10 powder per ounce of carrier oil.
  4. Mix CoQ10 with carrier oil: Gradually add the CoQ10 powder to the carrier oil, stirring slowly to ensure even distribution. You can use a small whisk or a clean, sanitized dropper to mix the ingredients.
  5. Add optional oils or extracts: If you’d like to incorporate additional beneficial oils or extracts, add them at this stage. A few drops of vitamin E oil, rosehip oil, or essential oils like lavender can be great additions to your facial oil.
  6. Transfer to a container: Once the ingredients are thoroughly mixed, carefully transfer the oil mixture to a clean, dark glass container with a dropper or pump. A dark-colored bottle helps protect the oil from light, which can cause the CoQ10 and other ingredients to degrade.
  7. Label and store: Clearly label your container with the ingredients and date, and store it in a cool, dark place to preserve its potency. Use within 6 months for optimal freshness and effectiveness.

To use your CoQ10 facial oil, apply a few drops to clean, damp skin, gently massaging it in with your fingertips. You can use it in the morning or evening, or as needed. If you experience any irritation or adverse reactions, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.
