Tax rates are a whole different topic than Socialist Totalitarian control of the economy. The Gestapo (like Stalin’s NKVD) had everyone living in fear of the Party. England, being a Capitalist free economy, in spite of excessive Taxes, had no Secret Police, Concentration Camps or Torture Chambers.
