I was being a little tongue in cheek there…what I meant is that mathematics are about calculus, algebra and trigonometry to name a few. They calculate answers to equations, which may or may not be accurate models of problems.

Machines calculate now, but for thousands of years only humans calculated, and often mathematicians calculated answers, but analysts and managers solved problems, aided by the answers the mathematicians provided.

Mathematics is the language of science, and if a “science” lacks mathematics, it is a pseudo-science. If the only maths used is the bastard off-spring of Mathematics and Marketing, Statistics, then that Science is only a hair’s whisker above an Art.
