All of us know that exercising regularly provides many physical as well as physiological benefits.

Here I would like to talk only about bodyweight exercises. These are moves when you use only your own weight as resistance instead of weights. Here are few reasons why I prefer it and what are the benefits of bodyweight training.

Easier to Get Ripped

A carefully designed routine consisting of pure bodyweight exercises one after the other with specific rest periods in between results in HIIT (high-intensity interval training) session!

The impact of this is far greater than a workout in the gym or with weights & machines. The reason is that these exercises involve the muscles of the whole body instead of exercising slowly a single particular muscle group.

They are proven to burn a higher amount of bodyfat since they increase body’s resting metabolic rate.

Better Bones

It was believed that heavier the weight you lift, denser your bones become. Not only resistance training or weight-bearing exercises but also bodyweight moves to a greater extent help increase bone mineral density.

Improve Your Appetite-Control

Just a 20 minutes of vigorous bodyweight training will signal the brain to secrete ‘Endorphins’ that not only act as the best stress-busters but also help increase hunger-control.

Hunger-control is an inevitable part of almost everyone’s life! Why? Because we all go through a lot of mental stress every day. Stress affects one’s appetite; either induces hunger-pangs or kills the hunger.

Build Your Whole Body

Also, consider this; bench pressing your body weight is nowhere near the same as doing a one-armed push-up. You involve multiple muscles while performing a push-up; whether one-handed or two. If you’ve trained to flex all the muscles that are required to be flexed during a one-armed push-up, your body can generate an intense amount of power with one arm in addition to keeping a number of other muscles flexed up to their optimum capacity!

You Don’t Need to Go to the Gym

Another benefit is that you do not need to go to the gym to train, since you only need a few basic equipment, such as a power tower to train your body. This way, you can save money and time.

Improve Your Anabolic Hormone Production

This type of workout have shown to have a positive effect on body’s production of Human Growth Hormone (hGH). Compared to other traditional forms of activities.

Bodyweight exercises do not only provide substantial micro & macro muscle-work but also exhibit outstanding benefits to heart & lung health. To enhance one’s cardio-respiratory fitness, bodyweight activities play an unavoidable role.
