I’m glad you find these FAQs informative but I’m not sure if you see what you did there.
See you literally took a piece of writing from a black person that was ABOUT the need for white people to listen and not attempt to validate or control the narrative, and rewrote it to be less abrasive to white people.
Out of what I can only presume was a desire to be of assistance, you managed to do the very thing that portion was counseling against.
It is important that you and other allies not miss the irony here. The point of these FAQs are not to coddle white people into feeling comfortable about race, but rather to educate them on how to engage from an informed standpoint with a full grasp of context.
By suggesting that I make my position “more nuanced" so as not to needlessly disenfranchise white people, you have centered whiteness at the core of this discussion.
Tl;dr. Being an ally doesn’t mean I’m not talking to you when I say “white people"
