It’s debatable on whether you can express emotion through code. Well-written, beautiful code certainly evokes positive emotions in me.
Sloppy, buggy, and confusing code evokes negative emotions. While I imagine that isn’t (always) the intent, the developer community could benefit from understanding it is often perceived that way.
What emotions do I want to convey? What emotions am I conveying? Thinking in these terms could improve motivation and understanding within development teams and across open-source projects.
