I have always enjoyed firing up the decks and sticking some tunes on. I’ve done it for engagement parties, weddings, social nights and now at a club.

Last Saturday, I was asked to cover for a DJ at a club as they didn’t have anyone, so seeing as my best mate and business partner works security there at the weekends, I thought why not. After all its a bit of fun. So I packed my Macbook Pro and headphones up and headed for the club. Usually with this sort of thing you need an audio input into the sound system, so I checked if they had the correct connections, otherwise it would be a trip to Maplin to get some cables.

Having setup my pre-mixes and songs I wanted on my playlist I opened up DJay Pro on my mac and started some mixing. As the night went on, and the

“Have you got this song?”

“This song is rubbish no one likes it”

These were the typical responses, albeit the club wasn’t overly busy but it gave me a chance to experiment with the setup I had
