Anyone here use the refurbished ThinkPad laptops endorsed (respects your freedom) by the Free Software Foundation (FSF). FSF was founded by Richard Stallman. Intel processors newer than Core2 (yeah Core2 is old), have a “management engine” backdoor that no one can shut off (https://stallman.org/intel.html). I remember reading that it can access the internet and keystrokes too. AMDs have similar stuff. Laptops endorsed by FSF have a free initialization program (libreboot) and non-spy hardware (Intel Core 2 Duo) as opposed to the proprietary/closed source ones. I saw multiple comments here praising old ThinkPads. ThinkPad X200, T400, T500 are available. More info at below links:
