In the center of the Japanese Alps lies Hida City, a metropolitan known for preserving old Japan. In the heart of the community stands the Hida City Library, an institution that has been a learning hub for all ages for generations.

The Library was established in 1964, following the merger of many smaller libraries in the region, leaving the goal of the larger library to be to provide access to knowledge and resources for the local community. Along with the preservation of the region's unique cultural traditions.

Over the years, the library has undergone many renovations and expansions to keep up with modern technology and any community needs. So, today the library features a new modern, spacious interior with a wide range of books and multimedia resources.

It plays a role in promoting literacy and education in the region offering programs, events, and even book clubs for patrons of all ages. It serves to host many exhibitions and workshops on local history, art, and crafts providing space for residents to connect with their culture and share it with new people and tourists.

For more than five decades. the Hida City Library has been a cornerstone of the community, allowing residents and tourists to see what Japan has to offer. As the city continues to grow and change, the library will remain an essential part of its cultural thread, promoting growth, connection, and love for learning for years to come.
