Science fiction is one of my favorite genres to read. Ever since getting introduced to the world of Sci Fi with Star Wars, Sci Fi gives you a glimpse of how exciting life could be.

  1. Dune by Frank Herbert

Dune is a masterpiece of the science fiction genre. Set on the deserts of Arrakis, people seek control of a drug called spice. Dune tells the story of Paul, a son of the royal family, who would set out on adventure of his life time becoming a hero of sorts. Filled with action, politics, and oh gigantic worms, Dune is a must read.

2. Wool by Hugh Howey

Don’t let the name fool you, Wool, is a mysterious and scary book that tells the story of civilization living in silos due to the outside world being deadly of toxic gas. There are some people though that do leave but their whereabouts are unknown. Is it really dangerous outside? Or are the people being told a lie. Our main character, Juliette, is going to try and find out the truth to the secret.

3. Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky

Mysterious aliens have landed on Earth but where are they? The only remains of these aliens are these artifacts that “stalkers” go to recover. Could these artifacts reveal something about the aliens? Or even the humans themselves? Roadside Picnic is a mysterious book that dives into human society because there is obviously more to these artifacts than what it is.

4. Solaris by Stanislaw Lem

We all know Aliens are these weird funny scary looking creatures, but what if the alien is an ocean? Now that's even more weirder. Solaris tells the story of a scientist set out to study this magnificent being. When studying it, the scientists are faced with mysterious memories. Why is this creature doing this? Is it trying to tell us something about ourselves and our human minds? Keep on reading and keep questioning yourself because Solaris tugs on your brain.
