Thanks for this — I want my students thinking about code and knowing how to manage. I believe it’s like any language — you don’t have to write novels in Spanish to have it be a useful tool for getting around. Even at basic levels there is much to be gained from knowing a bit. That said, if I’m not “street wise” — I might get sent to the wrong place or be charged too much money. When I went to work for a company as a trainer of the software being produced, I gained a new understanding for how hard or easy it was to fix bug or create a feature.
