Danna, I really identify with your phrase, “it has to be on my own terms.” I think that’s one of the big differences between introverts and extroverts. It seems like we introverts tend to dislike the lack of control that characterizes certain social situations.

I hate small-talk, too. Why do you think most introverts despise it so much? Any theories?
