One factor which defines how much money you’ll make
I believe that it’s possible to mathematically measure success and it could be measured by the amount of money you make. So, how much money you make depends on mostly one factor, and that’s Y.
X*Y=Z is the formula I use to measure success or the money you may make. X is time you spend working, Y is the work itself and Z is the outcome, the amount you make, and it’s dependent on both X and Y.
X the time.
One can work maximum up to 80 or 90 hours per week, thus we can state that X is limited. Here, one may ask himself a simple question, both the rich and the poor are given the same amount of X (time), they both can work up to 90 hours/week maximum, then why do the outcomes differ? Because Ys are different…
Y is what we can choose to do or not to do.
Y is any type of work we human beings do on this planet to make a living. Since X is limited and cannot really define the amount you make, let’s study Y thoroughly.
Let’s assume Y=A, Y=B and A=<B. If this is the case, X*A=<X*B.
It basically means that A is limited and it’s never bigger than B, whereas B is bigger than A and has a bigger limit. No matter what you choose to do in this life (A or B), you spend the same amount of time (X) working, but since A is smaller than B your outcome from X*A is always going to be smaller than X*B. That’s why some people work really hard (for two jobs sometimes) but can merely close the month in balance, when others’ bank accounts get expanded more and more…
In other words, whatever you choose to build your career upon, you should know some careers bring more money than others. And whatever business you’d like to start, some markets are bigger than others, so should be the outcome. Your hard work and the amount of time you spend working may not really define what the outcome will be…
Two different businesses or careers with different limits, no matter what you choose to do, you will have to work hard to succeed. If this is the case, why to go for something with smaller limits?
For the very reason I’m about to start my journey of learning a coding leaving my current job…
