Social Media Guidelines
When implementing social media into a website there are rules that should be followed and expectations that are required to be meet. The Social Media requirements will be different for every single website as each intends to cater for a different audience. In my opinion the following rules should be applied to all social media integration.
- Ensure that the social media does not intrude on the user’s ability to use the website.
- Where ever possible do not require the user to use your social media options.
- Do not overfill your site with social media options, the user does not need to have so many options that they cant decide what to use, or even worse have to use multiple accounts.
- Ensure that any social media that you choose to implement is something that is correct for the demographic that your website has been designed for.
