Let Them Eat Cake Lineup Announcement
Victoria’s hottest boutique day festival, Let Them Eat Cake, is back for its 6th instalment in 2018 and promises to be a ‘sonically lush and audaciously indulgent gathering’.
Pitched against the lavish backdrop of the Werribee Mansion, party-people will dance off their New Years hangovers in style to an array of carefully curated DJ’s and live acts from around the world.
The NYD festival has certainly made a name for itself among Australian house & techno heads, with previous slices of ‘Cake’ proudly boasting artists such as; Kerri Chandler, Bicep, Dj Koze, Jamie XX, Carl Craig, Dusky, Oliver Huntemann and Motor City Drum Ensemble.
However, the 2018 line-up has punters well and truly licking their lips.
Frank Wiedemann heads the stacked bill and will be performing live as one half of globally renowned German techno lords Âme. In demand Scottish geezer and ‘numbers’ co-founder, Jackmaster, will add some spice to NYD along with fellow Scotsman Jasper James.
The German contingent at Let Them Eat Cake continues with man of the minute, Stephan Bodzin (Live) preparing to saturate the ears (and pants) of eagerly awaiting revellers. Similarly, Apparat (1/3 member of Moderat) will no doubt deliver a haunting and ambient soundscape upon thousands of appreciative party-goers.
Melbourne based electronic duo KLLO (Live) and rising DJ from Newcastle, Mall Grab add some Aussie flavour to the bill.
Alas, If you thought that monumental line-up was it…. think again. This year’s Let Them Eat Cake will provide an exotic array of food and cocktail options to tempt those of us who were told as children that ‘you can’t have your cake and eat it too’.
As punters walk, with cocktail in hand, across the festival grounds, the stellar Resident Advisor Main Stage is a strong reminder of the partnership Let Them Eat Cake has forged with the global music scene.
Get excited, let the adrenaline rush through your body…and as former Queen of France, Mary Antoinette once famously proclaimed — ‘Let Them Eat Cake’!
