Exterior Paint colors in Nepal costs thousands in the hands of a pro. But you can save money if you invest the time to do it yourself correctly in your spare time with reasonable and Cheap Paints supplies. A properly prepared paint job can last for many years. So here are 7 steps to take to make your exterior paint attractive, stylish yet affordable.

Step 1: Wash the Exterior

Mildew thrives under fresh paint, which won’t adhere well to dirty, grimy, spore-sporting exterior walls. So wash your home’s exterior before painting. Start by rinsing the windows with the hose, then fill a bucket with clean, cool water and add a few drops of liquid dish soap.

Step 2: Fill and Repair

After washing your wood siding, inspect and fill uncovered holes, dings, and chips in the siding with a patching putty or compound. Fill and repair any surface defects or cracks in exterior masonry. Stabilize surfaces before painting or coating exterior masonry, brickwork.

Step3: Apply Primer

On most unpainted exterior surfaces, the standard procedure calls for a primer coat followed by two topcoats of paint. This procedure is also recommended for any painted surface that requires significant scraping and repairs. Apply primer immediately after preparing wood siding.

Step 4: Caulk All Joints

Caulk is a substance designed to seal a joint between two surfaces and to fill small holes. Siliconized or top-of-the line polyurethane acrylic caulks give paint jobs a smooth, pleasing look. But the benefits aren’t purely aesthetic. Tight joints also prevent air leaks and block water penetration.

Step 5: Select the Right Paint

The exterior is really about durability. It’s about protecting the huge investment you have. Keep in mind that neutral colors are always a good choice. A field color that dominates an accent color that brings shutters, doors, and other smaller parts to life and the trim color. Once you have chosen an appealing combination of field and trim, make it stand out with an eye-catching accent color.

Step 6: Applying Topcoats

Topcoat hides some minor flaws. Less is more when it comes to applying topcoats. More layers can result in paint flaking off whereas fewer paint bonds better to layers beneath. They prevent surfaces from soaking up too much paint, they prevent colors and stains from bleeding through and they ensure adhesion and prevent peeling.

Step 7: Upkeep a must

You can extend the life of a good paint job by removing mold or mildew. Timely touching up blisters and peels before they spread, inspecting the caulk, and replacing any that’s cracked or missing. Also washing stains from nesting birds and pollen is necessary to be done every year.
