A new company — you never know how that great idea will start!
In this particular case I stared out as an Advisor to another company — a online startup that was a marketplace that arranged jobs between handymen and customers. The founder, who I was advising, was part of a networking group that he hoped he could use to increase his website’s usage. As part of the networking groups’ policy, each member was required to set up meetings with one another on a weekly basis. However, like all meeting arrangements, there was no easy and convenient way to do this. Just trying to coordinate two or more calendars is a huge hassle and then there is the when and the where. My now co-founder had coded a hack to make this a bit easier, which he then showed me. LIGHT BULB Moment. After a brief conversation, a strategy session, and then a co-founders agreement… we were well on our way! Arrangr.com was born. More to come on the start-up process in following posts.
