Everything goes in cycles. Two steps forward, one step back. My parents were reminding me of similar politics in the 70s.
On the upside:
- It’s exposed the intolerance — and while it’s ugly, it’s much easier to address and change than when it’s hidden. (Although, we certainly don’t need to feed it in the process.)
- People are speaking out. Organizing. Getting involved. Standing up. People who were taking progress for granted. I mean the Women’s March… so many friends of mine who never have been politically active… going to DC, even from the opposite side of the country.
Change never stops.
