Understanding the science of the “GMBM” Complex

Why is the “GMBM Complex” so important?

Understanding the GMBM complex is the foundation behind your fat burning and muscle building efforts. If you learn how the GMBM complex works, You won’t screw up your Ketogenic Diet or any diet for that matter, and you’ll avoid wrecking your metabolism.

Trying to burn fat quickly using “old school” “Calorie Methods” means eating less and exercising more. Doing only this to burn fat will make you feel tired and moody, and you’ll eventually quit because it’s an unsustainable and impractical approach to fat burning.

We know that the fastest way to burn body fat is through an optimized state of ketosis. There’s no argument about that, and it’s why people ask me how they’re supposed to know if they’re doing the ketogenic diet in the healthiest way possible.

In social media, the problem of fat loss has been oversimplified and reduced to a “Calories In & Calories Out” approach; and if you’ve had trouble burning body fat, it’s because you think it involves strict dieting using this method.

You might think fat burning is as simple as eating less and exercising more and having enough discipline and willpower to “suck it up” over the long term.

Not only is that a prevalent myth, it’s also very unnecessary. This particular approach ignores the science of how hormones impact the brain and how the brain impacts hormones. As well as how the gut and microbiome affect the brain and how the brain affects the gut and microbiome. Oh, and how toxic invaders impact everything.

Your inability to burn body fat to create more energy is a symptom of a sick and diseased GMBM Complex. It reasonable to believe, that if you’re truly using your extra body fat to fuel your daily activities, then the process of burning your body fat should leave you with a tonne of energy every day until you’ve burnt all the fat.

Why is it that most people don’t feel like they have enough energy when they’re in the process of getting rid of body fat. If you’re burning fat, shouldn’t you be burning it to create energy?

If you have low energy, you have to be wondering where all the energy you used to have, is now being spent.

The main reason for your low energy, is that you’re not able to get into an optimal state of Ketosis, due to underlying dis-ease inside your GMBM Complex.

Most people achieve modest fat burning results simply because they’re in a caloric deficit. While this can work to make someone leaner, we must ask ourselves: Are caloric deficits (also known as “Metabolic Starvation Mode”) something sustainable and enjoyable over the long term.

The answer is “NO”.

How is it that my clients can burn up to a pound of body fat a day while in a surplus of calories and without the use of supplements or steroids.

There are pieces of this puzzle that have yet to be exposed to the mainstream diet culture. Pieces that I’m gong to reveal to you.

Ketosis is only piece of this giant puzzle, and the health of your GMBM complex is another.

A truly optimized Ketogenic Diet is enjoyable, practical and sustainable because it’s not about measuring calories and macros. A healed GMBM Complex is the key to long-lasting and practical Ketosis, and we can use my nutritional Bio-Hacking methodology to make the process of getting healthy, fast, easy and sustainable.

If you want to enter into Ketosis, and burn half a pound to a pound of body fat per day, and feel fantastic doing it, then you need to understand how to heal your GMBM complex and how get into ketosis using the Keto-Biome Diet.

Once you appreciate these connections, burning body fat will begin to feel natural, as come you recognize the mistakes you’ve been making all these years, and how they’ve impacted your body.

Once you learn what I’m about to teach you in this lesson, you’ll never have to count macros or calories again; you’ll no longer need to obsess over food prep or count the days until your next cheat meal. Once you learn these principles and heal your GMBM Complex, you will never again, feel restricted from the foods you love.

What is the “GMBM Complex”?

Understanding The GMBM Complex is one of the foundational steps in this program, because without an optimized GMBM Complex, you’ll suffer from low energy, mood and a lack of motivation when using any diet strategy that revolves around calorie counting and managing macronutrient ratios.

This kind of commercialized diet usually doesn’t include crucial information about the role of GMBM Complex in your health. This information is what you’ll use to alter your genetic expression so you can burn fat and build muscle fast, while staying healthy and lean year round, without having to measure your food.

In the membership area, you’ll learn how to:

  • Heal The Gut
  • Re-Vitalize your Microbiome
  • Optimize Your Brain
  • Energize Your Mitochondria
  • Help your immune system defend Against “Toxic Invaders” in order to Reduce Inflammation & Oxidation
  • Identify The “Fat Burning Blockers” And
  • Bust Common Diet Myths

Consider what you’re about to learn in the following paragraphs as a bitesize version of what you’ll find inside the membership area.

What is a Leaky Gut?

When we’re talking about “Healing The Gut” what we’re referring to, is something called “Leaky Gut Syndrome,” and if you have excess body fat, then you likely have Leaky Gut Syndrome to some degree or another.

As do most of the people living in heavily populated city centers, where a fast paced, economically centered lifestyle greatly contributes to the chronic stressors that are robbing you of your youthful energy and vitality with every passing year.

Today, a leaky gut has become the rule rather than the exception.

This rapid decline in our general health in recent decades, has its roots in how well we’re taking care of our digestive system, and the solutions you need rest on the science of how to heal and seal your leaky gut.

Your gut is the hollow tube that traverses from your mouth to your anus (better known as your digestive tract). Along this tube is the epithelial lining, and it’s the only barrier between the things that belong on inside of your body, and the things that belong on the outside of your body.

When something unwelcome from outside your body, sneaks through this protective gut lining, (called the “Epithelium”) and enters into your bloodstream or body tissues, then we call this thing an unwelcome Toxic Invader (Pathogen).

When you have a properly functioning GMBM complex, it implies that your gut is “healed and sealed”; which means that it allows only properly digested food particles to permeate the gut wall and move into the bloodstream.

Since a healthy gut is made up of a one cell wall thick ”epithelial layer” with a layer of protective mucus over it, it doesn’t take much abuse to damage these delicate tissues.

The tight junctions in-between each epithelial cell are what allow for nutrients to pass through selectively, into the bloodstream.

It’s the deadly combination of a thinning mucosal membrane, and damaged cells, that means your GMBM defense system has been compromised, and toxic invaders will wiggle their way into your bloodstream and trigger an immune response, leading to you becoming “fat, sick and tired”.

This “selective permeability” in a healthy gut means it allows some things to pass through the gut barrier while blocking other potentially harmful substances.

Like when a bacterial cell, or man-made chemical substance crosses into your bloodstream, or when undigested or partially digested food particles pass through the gut wall.

Usually, these invaders carry pathogens or “Germs, ” and these bad germs carry antigens (things that provoke an immune response) which then cause a chronic inflammatory response which can lead to fat gain.

Antigens are like weapons that pathogens use to force entry into protected areas of your body, when they’re not welcome.

If the “Invader” isn’t carrying any weapons to force entry, then your body usually lets it pass into the “Gut Kingdom” without an inflammatory response from your immune system.

Imagine a bad guy carrying a concealed weapon into a school cafeteria, this is a school which has a reputation for violence. Due to its history, there are security systems placed everywhere and the guards are always on high alert. As soon as an invader enters this school, the security systems detect the antigens and the alarms ring, triggering the guards into actions.

These guards are members of the immune system, and their quick reaction is what we’d call an “immune response.”

The “Immune Response Guards” quickly signal everyone to move to safety, so they have plenty of space to fight the bad guy without injuring any innocent bystanders (other cells in the area). The immune Response Guards then proceed to handle the situation by “bagging & tagging” the toxic invaders.

The process of “bagging & tagging” the bad guy, means attacking and destroying it, and keeping parts of its chemical signature in a database that acts like a “who’s who” of threats to your bodies health.

This database is similar to having a list of “America’s Most Wanted” criminals. Where the unique chemical signature of each kind of invader, will be permanently registered by your immune system, and allowing your body to quickly recognize and destroy any repeat offenders to your health.

If we continue to visualize our school security guards wrestling the invader to the ground, we can imagine that “bagging & tagging” implies a degree of resistance on the part of the invader. The ensuing scuffle between the forces of good and evil means that collateral damage in the form of some broken furniture and damaged workspaces is a guarantee. This collateral damage is what inflammation is designed to “clean up, ” and the result is a combination of swelling, pain, heat, and redness.

Inflammation: The swelling, pain, heat, and redness that results from your immune system trying to clean up the collateral damage created when it’s is trying to fight off excessive exposure from injury by unwelcome toxic invaders

It’s the collateral damage created from this battle in your gut between your immune cells and the toxic Invaders that ultimately creates the majority of damage in your body, and much of your GMBM healing efforts target this particular root cause.

Back to the imagery of the school guards tackling and subduing this invader…

Before the classrooms are used again, the school has to bring in the maintenance crew to clean up the mess. As mentioned earlier, it’s the “clean up and repair” process, that an inflammatory response is designed to handle.

However, this becomes a problem because while this “inflammatory clean up” is happening, certain areas of the school are “out of service” or shut down. Which means essential work is not being done by the teachers and students in that school because your body becomes overwhelmed by the inflammatory process.

While this is happening your body is unable to commit any metabolic resources to burning fat and building muscle.

Releasing energy from the fat cell and bringing it into the muscle cells is deemed less important to your immediate survival by your immune system.

Instead, the primary focus of your biology is to survive the attack from this invader. Whether that invader comes from an infection; or misinformed food choices, the resulting response by your innate immune system is always the same.

Your immune system triggers a series of events that make you crave the same carbohydrates and sugars that your immune cells demand, and prefer to use as fuel to fight the raging battle inside your gut.

Each “school”, in your body, can be viewed as a particular organ system, gland, or any part of your body for that matter.

Wherever there’s injury or a toxic invader, there is an immune response, and hence the collateral damage of excessive inflammation and oxidation, which makes the affected area more or less useless until everything is cleaned up.

Through this long chain of events, the inflammatory response to the damage created from these Toxic Invaders are whats making you FAT, SICK, and TIRED.

Remember that it takes a lot of energy to build a fantastic body. If your immune system is too busy fighting off toxic invaders in your gut, then your body is spending much of its valuable energetic resources to do that, rather than metabolizing fat and building muscles.

If you want to see your body transform, you`ll have to start avoiding these toxic invaders who are waging wars in your body.

Instead you’ll have to start focusing on the economy of your energy, so your body has enough of it to encourage burning fat and building muscle quickly.

How to heal your GMBM complex

Now that you understand how having leaky gut impacts fat loss and muscle gain, you can better appreciate how the things you put in your mouth can rob you of the vital energy you need to burn fat and build muscle.

Here are 3 “Fat Burning Blockers” you can avoid right now by keeping them out of your diet.

I call them “Fat Burning Blockers” because they tend to carry antigens with them or provoke an immune response in some way or another through molecular mimicry or through a particular susceptibility to being oxidized or “reactive” inside your body.

Remember that antigens are anything that provoke an immune response, and immune responses result in the necessary; but energy draining inflammatory response.

In order to reduce the chances of creating an inflammatory response through the foods that you’re eating; follow these steps:

Step 1: Eliminate Vegetable Oils From Your Diet
Vegetable oils contain excessive levels of Poly-Unsaturated Fatty Acids (PUFA’s) also known as Omega-6 Fats.

These compounds are linked to:

Cancer, Heart Disease, Atherosclerotic Plaques, Headaches, Heart Burn, DNA Damage, Macular Degeneration, Allergies, Brain Cramp, Enzymatic Damage, Emotional Eating, Migraines, and MiniStrokes, by triggering chronic inflammation and oxidative stress in the affected areas. This only serves to make you more FAT, SICK & TIRED.

Step 2: Reduce Carbohydrates (Sugars) from a S.A.D. C.R.A.P Diet
Sugars increase glycation by producing Advanced Glycation End Products (AGE’s ) and because they act like a glue that makes all your cells stick together. They decrease your bodies ability to burn fat for energy, by making the moving parts of your body (your cells) “stick together”.

Imagine how sticky your hands would become if you covered it in sugar water, and let it dry; and then firmly pressed your hands against each other. Your hands would stick together very easily, and you wouldn’t dare touch your phone or computer before washing them.

This stickiness is what’s happening in and around your cells when you consume more sugar than your body is designed to handle.

Once you stop consuming excessive sugar/carbs; you can stop wreaking havoc on your fat storage and hunger signaling hormones like Leptin, Ghrelin, and Insulin.

Sugars may have fewer calories than fat, but sugar is much more likely to be stored as body fat than anything else because of how it affects the hormones mentioned above.

Sugar, is also a highly toxic, pro-inflammatory, and is considered a pro-oxidative drug.

It’s critical to understand, that “sugars” are the digested forms of any carbohydrate. Whether it be a piece of candy, a sweet potato or even a red pepper; at the molecular level, every carbohydrate that you eat is reduced to a sugar molecule.

Don’t get me wrong; this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t eat anything that reduces to sugar inside your body. It just means that you should be wary of how much sugar your body actually needs when it becomes metabolically flexible.

For most of us, who only engage in low to moderate amounts of exercise per day, this means exceeding 100g/day of carbohydrate consumption is usually unnecessary. If you want to enter into ketosis, less than 30g/day is recommended.

If your GMBM Complex is “healed and sealed” and if the carbohydrates you consume come from vegetables and resistant starches, then 100g a day is more than enough to support a healthy, athletic body.

With the exception of high performance anaerobic athletes who train at high frequencies, intensities, and volumes. Like sprinters, power-lifters & Olympic weightlifters.

Following a Ketogenic diet doesn’t require that you avoid carbohydrates like the plague; that’s what resistant starches are for.

It’s why I’m not “Anti-Carb,” but I am “Anti-Unessecary Carbs.”

Your body hasn’t evolved, to safely handle carbohydrates in high amounts; as this flies in the face of millions of years of mammalian and human evolution.

Avoiding carbohydrates includes avoiding the “natural” fructose sugar from fruits. Fructose is the most fattening natural sugar you can consume because of the way it’s metabolized in the body, despite it being measured as low on the Glycemic Index, which means it won’t spike your insulin levels.

Fructose is even worse than other sugars because it goes straight into the fat cell for storage through metabolism by the liver. Fructose equals fat gain.

Is it any wonder that animals fatten up the quickest in autumn when the harvest comes and fallen fruits litter the forest floors.
Even more alarming is how sugar intoxicates your brain in imperceptible ways, making you more prone to emotional eating, mood swings and what I call… The “Dumbs,” the inability to think straight.

Step 3: Avoid Grains
Grains contain addictive compounds called exorphins, which is short for “Morphine like Substances” that come from outside the body.

These exorphins make grains addictive. You don’t want to consume grains because they’ll create more leakiness in your gut through the release of a protein called Gluten.

Gluten is a lectin, which triggers the release of another protein called Zonulin which is the key that opens the tight junctions between your epithelial cells and allows toxic invaders to pass into the bloodstream and initiate an inflammatory response from your immune system.

As you already know, chronic inflammation is what blocks fat burning from happening. You must avoid it at all costs.

Why Does Inflammation Suck So Much?
Think of it this way, if you’re inflamed, it’s like trying to relax in your hammock, on a camping trip, while uncontrolled “forest fires” are raging all around you.

In this scenario, the forest ecosystem you’re camping in, is your body; and as much as you’d like to create a controlled campfire to “burn body fat” in, you and your guests are simply too horrified by the impending doom, from the forest burning around you; that you’re unable to focus on cooking (or metabolizing) the marshmallows in your campfire.

Instead, your attention is pulled towards fighting the flames that are consuming the park and putting your life, and the life of your guests in the most immediate danger.Fighting the flames first, and roasting the marshmallows second, makes a lot more sense from an immediate survival perspective.

It’s much better to worry about roasting marshmallows over an open flame after you’ve ensured that the forest your camping in, won’t go up in smokes, while killing you and your friends in the process.

Your body and immune system, will respond in the same “do or die” fashion when exposed to toxic invaders or an injury of any kind. Thus, if the food you’re eating is injuring you, you’ll no doubt have symptoms of inflammation.

I think one of the most overlooked symptoms of inflammation, is that when it occurs in your brain (and it often does), it means you’ll have difficulty holding your concentration and focus for very long; or maintaining an even keel of emotions throughout the week.

If a lack of focus and mood swings are something you deal with regularly, then you can safely assume that your brain is on fire, and needs help now!

Once you get the inflammation under control, then you can light a “body fat burning” campfire, that’ll melt the marshmallows off your hips and thighs for good.

So now that you know exactly which “Fat Burning Blockers” you need to avoid, and why; I’m going to tell you what the perfect gut healing diet looks like in lesson five, so keep reading.

What If I’m a Difficult Case?

When it comes to healing the GMBM complex, the major roadblocks you may encounter, typically revolve around the obstacles created, by having a chronic condition or an auto-immune disease.

If you’re injured, or have an auto-immune disease like Crohn’s, Colitis, Cancer, Arthritis or any Thyroid or Adrenal Dysfunction; then it’s essential to start asking me more specific questions as they relate to your condition.

The solutions and strategies I can provide, tend to vary on an individual basis; so direct contact with me is imperative.

I’m willing say with confidence, that if you adhere to the “Keto-Biome Diet”, apply the “Morphfit Flow Process” and implement the “MH5 Training Principles” simultaneously for an extended period of time; then you’ll improve your condition and minimize negative symptoms you may be experiencing, no matter what your starting point.

Thanks in part, to the symbiotic role, each one of these particular systems play. Each designed to help you find true health, in addressing the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of your being. A truly holistic approach to wellness.
