Portable Exercise Bike Benefit

A portable exercise bike is useful several different ways. If you have limited room in your house or apartment, a small bike may be all that will fit. Also if you must store the bike and bring it out to exercise, a bulky machine may be very inconvenient. You may even like a machine you can carry with you traveling like in an RV. Maybe a heavy bike is just too much for your to move around.

There are several different designs of portable exercise machines. Some are small and light while others are fold-able. None of the smaller bikes are made for heavy use on a regular basis but they can help you exercise in places where you couldn’t use any other exercise bike.

One type of machine is the fold-able exercise bike. Most of these fold in a scissor fashion so the folded bike becomes flat and long. This is especially suited for storing in a closet or behind a door. These machines are lighter weight than serious non-folding models like the Schwinn 240 Recumbent Exercise Bike, but look much like regular exercise bikes. Choose a folding recumbent model or an upright version.

Another popular portable exercise bike is the mini exercise bike. Picture just the pedal mechanism with no seat. These versions are just the crank assembly and pedals. You furnish the seat and whatever accessories you choose. These are really portable. The challenge is getting the “bike” to stay still while you pedal.

A portable exercise bike is a way to get some exercise where no other machine will fit. For really serious exercise in most situations you need a heavier machine even if it is a fold-able exercise bike. One good example is the Schwinn Airdyne exercise bike
