This is a very valid point; relying on older business models (like paywalls, for example) is going to make life continually more difficult for web content creators.

However, it’s also worth noting that different types of content creation have different dynamics, and interact with web and app interfaces differently. The logistics of creating a blog post (generally just text, a picture, a graph, and maybe a gif) are very different than creating a much more in-depth piece of work, like a song or video (long form video, not a snapchat-style video). Appreciating that those different dynamics exist and will continue to evolve will be key in building a successful business long term.
