The Accountability Equation #1: A Summary of the Initial Burst.

“It’s so hard to get motivated”

No, it’s really not. How often have you watched a video, read a post, heard something inspirational and said “I’m going to do this! I’m going to start tomorrow morning and I’ll never look back!” Maybe you started, did it for a day or two, or maybe the next morning you were too tired and said “tomorrow will be better”

That feeling of “yes I’m going to do it!” Is motivation, it’s so easy to feel that way, isn’t it? It’s a short term, unsustainable feeling.

Motivation is bullshit, it doesn’t get anything done.

Motivation gets you started, it’s the fuel to the fire, but it never lasts long. Commitment, strong habits, taking daily responsibility and accountability for your thoughts, feelings, and actions is what sustains progress long term.

These few initial days after my large burst of motivation caused by attending an amazing event have felt different than many other days I have been through. However, real life is starting to sink in now. The negativities and bullshits (I prefer calling excuses bullshits) of those around me are trying to bring me down. Three days after and the initial burst is starting to wear off, but now something else takes its place.

I refuse to allow myself to return to my old pattern. By accepting that I am always in control of myself and my life, by taking accountability over my beliefs, I will determine my own life outcome.

When you take accountability for yourself, you take back control from the bullshit stories you have told yourself in the past about why you can’t.
