Trump pivots. Will we?
Donald is running for the general. Let’s get serious.

Tonight Donald Trump has pivoted and is running as the presumptive Republican nominee for President.
Gov. Chris Christie’s introduction set the tone. Trump’s opening statement was level, sober and assured. Of course, the Donald said the same play ground things about “the weak… loser” Rubio. And Trump also made the same grandiose promises rooted in the shallowest policy imagineable.
But he took questions from the press during his victory speech. Often combative, of course. But he talked about “inclusion,” “unity,” and “movement.” There was talk about “women’s issues.” And he answered a shrewd reporter’s question about negotiation tactics by outlining his plan to… wait for it… negotiate.
Donald Trump pivoted tonight. Will we?
I was hoping Gov. Kasich would have won a few states by now. I believed that Sen. Rubio would have fared better by now. It’s not working. It won’t work. It’s over.
Feel the Bern or with Hilary? Great.
The matter at hand is we have to be very serious about the possibility of a Trump White House. He’s brilliantly executed his campaign (however offensive and shallow it may be).
This week a lot of my progressive friends (on both sides of the political divide) have huddled together and shared a laugh over John Oliver’s brilliant #MakeDonaldDrumpfAgain take down on Sunday night. We joke about getting our passports ready for 4 year sojourns in Canada or Iceland or Elsewhere.
Laugh. Cry. Pray.
But pivot.
We can’t let this country be won by Donald Trump. We have to pivot from our fear filled coping mechanisms and really roll up our sleeves to beat this guy.
Or we’ll be the laughingstock.
