Divorce and Love for my children.

Daddy and Mommy love you,

Don’t say it isn’t so!

Mommy’s having a midlife crisis,

So Daddy’s got to go.

It doesn’t mean we won’t be there,

We’ll watch you grow and grow.

I’m sorry that this happened,

But we love you both, you know.

I know it will be strange and different,

Sometimes you might feel alone.

Daddy will be there to hold you,

And I’ll get mommy on the phone.

We’ll calm your aches and sorrows,

This is our way to atone,

Understand how much we love you,

Now and forever, even when you’re grown.

I hope you’ll come to know,

As both of you get bigger,

Two people just grow apart,

When life is full of rigor.

It was nothing that you did,

You were not the trigger,

Hopefully you’ll learn from us;

Treasure your soulmate with vigor.

Whether Mommy is near or far,

You’ll always be in her heart.

Life leads people down many paths,

It’s a separate journey, a fresh start.

Don’t hate us for the pain we’ve caused,

That’s how we grew apart.

Can you find it in your heart to forgive?

Please say yes, our precious sweethearts.
